Activities in Nature

Reflect and Reconnect

If you are a lover of the outdoors and nature you will already know the benefits of a walk in the park, or in the fells. You may like taking it slowly and spotting birds and flowers as you go and will be aware of the peace and calm that it brings to your busy life.

As a sustainable business advisor, Karen has noticed that connecting with nature is a missing ingredient in many organisations, and those organisations are missing out on something magical.

Adding nature into your strategy can have a positive impact on you, your staff and on the environment. Whether it’s introducing lunch-time walks, wildlife spotting competitions, bringing the outside in, having your staff away day in nature or putting ‘nature on the board’, you will notice the difference in staff wellbeing.

Our Away Days in Nature are ideal for individuals and teams, offering time for reflection and space to find clarity, whilst enjoying the joys of being in nature.

“The Green Sketching workshop had such a relaxed, welcoming feel. The gentle pace, lack of pressure, and the chance to try something new made it a lovely experience. What I loved most was that it wasn’t about creating the perfect drawings, but about noticing beauty in the small details around us and taking the time to really pause. For someone who spends so much of the day at a desk or on my phone, it was the perfect way to quieten my mind and just be for a while.”

Your Away Day Options

Green Sketching (Drawing in Nature)

A gentle, creative session to help your team slow down and notice the world around them. Karen will guide you through warm-up exercises using pens, pencils and paints—no artistic skill needed, just curiosity. Inspired by the Green Sketching approach, this is about looking closely, not being perfect

Environmental Art

A mindful, hands-on activity using foraged natural materials to create mandalas, patterns or small installations. This can be a group collaboration or a personal reflection exercise.

A relaxed two-hour session combining fresh air and creativity. Learn simple tricks to improve phone photography, explore light and focus, and take time to see the beauty around you. Ginny will also create a digital collage to remind you of your day.

Making Nature ID Fun

Ever wondered which bird is singing or what that wildflower’s called? This is a light-hearted, interactive way to build nature knowledge, with the option of a friendly team challenge.

Weaving the Landscape

Create a small tapestry in response to a view, using foraged materials from the landscape. It’s a tactile, reflective session that works beautifully for individuals or as a collaborative team piece.

Ten Easy Ways to Connect with Nature (Every Day)

To close the day, Karen shares quick, practical ways your team can stay grounded through small moments of nature connection—even back at their desks.

From Friction to Flow with Dave Brown

A calm and powerful space to reflect on how we show up at work—and how we can shift from stress to flow.

This session introduces the Functional Fluency framework in a way that’s practical, down-to-earth, and energising. Through a mix of quiet reflection, gentle coaching, and insightful group discussion, we explore how everyday behaviours affect communication, collaboration, and wellbeing.

It’s a great addition for teams who want to understand each other better and work in more connected, emotionally intelligent ways.

Costs and Practicalities

Pricing depends on your chosen activities, the number of people involved, and whether you’d like a full or half day. We can include walks, picnics, or a shared meal if that suits your rhythm.

If you have a set budget, we’ll do our best to work within it.

We can also help connect you with local environmental charities if you’d like to explore volunteering or ongoing partnerships.
